What can CRaNHR offer?

CRaNHR is committed to timely dissemination of research findings to the health care community and to use research and evaluation to support health care workers and consumers. As such, there are a variety of databases that CRaNHR has access to, with potential research topics listed.

Intellihealth holdings

  • provider and patient information for hospital, ambulatory care, inpatient mental health, inpatient rehabilitation, home care, medical services, registered persons, population estimates and projections, provincial geographies from 2000-2019

  • The user agreement allows the use of this database for management, assessment, evaluation, monitoring or planning all or part of Ontario's healthcare system. Research applications or database linking are not permitted.

NOSM Tracking Study & Training for Health Equity network graduate outcomes study (THEnet GOS)

  • demographic information, intentions and rationale for choosing NOSM, interests in training, application scores, residency programs and locations, and GPA's ranging from 2005-present

  • For the undergraduate surveys, and to a lesser extent, for the postgraduate surveys, there is the opportunity to examine changes in intention: intended medical specialty/discipline, lines or dislikes for services or procedures to provided or specialty areas, intended practice location, level of confidence in knowledge/skills/competencies, and influential factors

  • Data on actual choices and behaviours that are collected during the postgraduate surveys (e.g., medical discipline/specialty) or once the learner is in full practice (e.g., practice location, practice population, services provided) can be compared to intended behaviours.

College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
