Nancy L. Young, Ph.D.
Canada Research Chair in Rural and Northern Children's Health

Dr. Young is a Clinical Epidemiologist and Physiotherapist with 15 years of research experience focusing on children's health. Her research spans different clinical domains and uses a variety of research methods including health services research, survey research and qualitative research. Her work has enabled clinicians and scientists to view health through the eyes of children. She joined the faculty at Laurentian University in September of 2005 and is a Professor in the School of Rural and Northern Health, as well as holding a Canada Research Chair in Rural and Northern Children's Health. She holds cross appoints as an Adjunct Scientist at the Hospital for Sick Children's Research Institute, Adjunct Scientist at the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences, and Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Toronto. These institutions are central to her child health research program. She is also the leader of the ECHO research group (Evaluating Children's Health Outcomes) based at Laurentian University.
