Geoffrey Tesson, Ph.D. Sociology

Geoffrey Tesson has taught sociology and human development at Laurentian University since 1971. His research has focused on the social development of children and adolescents and he has published several key works in this field. He has served at Laurentian University as Dean of Social Sciences, Vice President Academic and, for a period, as the University's Acting President. Most recently, as Executive Director of Health Initiatives he led Laurentian University's team, working with partners in the development of the proposal to create a Northern Ontario Medical School. He brings to CRaNHR a strong interest in research into efforts at reshaping medical education to meet rural and northern needs.
