Jungwee Park, Ph.D.
Medical Sociologist

Jungwee Park, PhD, who trained as a medical sociologist at Brown University, did a post-doctoral fellowship at the Lakehead site of the Centre for Rural and Northern Health Research. During that time he worked with Dr. Connie Nelson, looking at the impact of economic change on the health status of residents in small northern Ontario industrial towns. Subsequently he has done the statistical analysis on such CRaNHR projects as a study for the North West Local Health Integration Network that examined the health effects experienced in communities where forest industry closures had occurred. He also recently analyzed data related to Aboriginal people's respiratory health for a study commissioned by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.
