Alain Gauthier (Ph.D.) is an Assistant Professor with the School Human Kinetics at Laurentian University. He received his doctoral and undergraduate degrees from Laurentian University, and his master's degree from the University of Ottawa. His doctoral training was supported by a studentship from the Canadian Institutes for Health Research. Dr. Gauthier's research interests revolve around the role of physical activity behaviour in promoting and maintaining optimal health and wellness. He is particularly interested in understanding determinants of physical activity, as well as ways of facilitating the uptake of this behaviour, among vulnerable populations (e.g., rural dwellers, children, and smokers).
