I am the Assistant Dean Informatics, an Associate Professor and Acting Director of Simulation at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine. My research interests include medical education, medical informatics, educational informatics, simulation, virtual reality, augmented reality, e-health, technology standards and instructional design. Current projects include investigating dimensions of simulation integration, activity analysis in and around different simulation modalities and the development of concepts of Digital Professionalism. I am the originator of the OpenLabyrinth virtual patient platform, creator of the AMEE Fringe and I write the 'eMedical Teacher' column for the journal Medical Teacher. I am currently chair of the AFMC Informatics Resource Group and a member of the boards of eHealth Ontario and Medical Teacher.
