The North West LHIN Share Your Story, Shape Your Care Initiative: Themes and Issues

The North West Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) launched its Share Your Story, Shape Your Care project in January 2009, as a means of involving residents and health care professionals in a dialogue about priorities for the region's health system. CRaNHR analyzed the qualitative data from 666 surveys and 140 separate narrative submissions from individuals across the region. This yielded valuable input about ways to improve the health care system in northwestern Ontario communities. The results of the project were used to inform the LHIN's 2nd Integrated Health Services Plan (IHSP) and its resource allocation decisions.
