Pilot Project: Tracking Survey for the Northern Ontario Dietetic Internship Program
B. Minore, M.E. Hill, and D. Raftis

The Northern Ontario Dietetic Internship Program (NODIP) is a pan-Northern initiative administered through the Northern Ontario School of Medicine. The program is designed to give interns comprehensive learning experiences to prepare them for nutrition practice in Northern Ontario, including Aboriginal, Francophone, rural and remote communities. The principal goal of this pilot study is to assess the feasibility of using a survey questionnaire to track the subsequent employment experiences of NODIP graduates and to understand how well the internship program has prepared them for dietetics practice. The survey will also explore the community locations where graduates choose to practice, the types of practice they prefer and their career intentions, as well as assessing how practice, community and family factors affect their choices.
